Word to the wise – “Imperative Flags”

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

As we stand at the threshold of the last quarter of the year, it’s a perfect time to focus on your “Imperative Flags” as i call it. These signify the most crucial one-two goals which you need to achieve by the end of the year to take your work, your life a rung higher on the ladder of success. And, the 90days left in the year is an excellent time frame for goal-setting. Its a short and sweet span of time, easy to manage and achieve results!Target just one or two Imperative Flags, not more, otherwise you will be diffusing your focus from your top priorities. If there are too many things to do in your basket, you’ll end up not achieving any. Fix your gaze on The most important goal, and with utmost commitment strive towards achieving the bull’s eye, and you will.

Be priority driven. Zoom in to what matters most and ensure your schedule is woven around it in order to have enough time to work on making a positive difference in your life and at your work. Mark your Imperative Flags well – they should be deeply relevant and take your life to the next level of Magnifique!

RedAlkemi Participated in Job Fair, 2007 organized by Naukri.com

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

RedAlkemi participated in the job fest organized by Naukri.com on the 6th & 7th October at Hotel Shivalikview. We, the HR Team (Shazia Naaz, Divya Vashisht and I) had the exciting opportunity to be a part of the fest, which turned out to be on a larger scale than we had expected! We were on our toes through-out as we interacted and interviewed almost 2000 talented, enthusiastic and experienced as well as fresh candidates.

The job-seekers were quite fascinated by the three big hoardings we displayed at our stall. One of the banners showcased the most talented and longest-serving employees of RedAlkemi, sharing their rich experiences at RedAlkemi. Another banner had a group photo of all the RedAlkemists, while the last but not the least, carried the RedAlkemi brand name with a variety of event pictures and our Vision and Mission statement highlighted on it! We got plenty of compliments for them! Hurray! :)

It was the first time we ever participated in such an event, which is why I wasn’t very surprised when some people asked what kind of business we are into. Even the other participants like HSBC, Zenith Infotech, IBM Daksh were attracted to our stall and shared their thoughts with us.
One of the recruiters also complimented us, and quoted – “I like the punch line of your organization – YES, IT’S POSSIBLE!”

Huge crowds gathered at our stall, eagerly looking for opportunities with our organization, asking all sorts of questions regarding the vacancies, job profile etc. It was indeed an enriching and a wonderful learning experience for all of us as well. Although at the end of the day, each one of us was completely exhausted, we all agreed on one thing – it was well worth participating for! After all, at RedAlkemi everything is POSSIBLE!!! Kudos to the spirit of our organization! ;)

RedAlkemi relives the Gandhian spirit: expresses gratitude to the ‘Father of the Nation’

gandhi.jpgThis Gandhi Jayanti, RedAlkemi salutes the ‘Father of the Nation’, the greatest leader of India – Mr. Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi , for his tremendous contribution to the Freedom Movement of India. We all know that his influence extends across the borders of India to the rest of the world for his humanitarian philosophies like ‘Non-Violence’ & his extraordinary leadership qualities. He was aware that Indian freedom from the yoke of British Imperialism required freedom of the Indian masses from the economic servitude and so left no stone unturned in achieving our birthright to be a free country.

This 2 Oct, lets all relive the Gandhian spirit and pay our gratitude to the great man by swearing to preserve the legacy of our great freedom fighters…! Because had they not fought the dark ages, India wouldn’t have been shining like today!!! :)

Promoting it through Viral Marketing: do’s & the dont’s

What is Viral Marketing ?
Ever received a video from a friend featuring an insane funny bear, dancing & fighting on the river side and which is so hilarious that you can’t stop yourself from forwarding it to your best friends to make them go through the same motions that you just had. This is Viral Marketing. What that viral video provided you, was a chance to enjoy some thing stupid, hilarious and what the makers of the video got; was a word of mouth for their own company, product or service. And the marketing channel involved in the process was 1000 times more effective and faster than other traditional and really expensive marketing channels like banners ads, PPC ads etc; as viral marketing is based on the oldest and the most effective channel – that is word of mouth.

Viral Marketing might sound insane to some but I don’t think, any question can be raised on effectiveness of a well directed and presented viral advertisement. Here I have tried to gist down few tips about how to develop a successful viral advertisement. I am not guaranteeing you any success though, as its all about your creativity and perception about your company and product or service that you are selling.

1. Hit the right emotion
Viral should be so designed to evoke feelings like love, hate, humor or shock in the hearts of the viewers. So when it comes to viral marketing, there is no harm in acting like the most idiot, insane, genius or compassionate person on earth.
2. Do the unexpected
If you want people to actually notice and share your viral campaign, you will have to think out of the box.
3. Do not do any thing that can have negative impact on viewers
Time for a word of caution. When I say that you have to make some thing different which has a big emotional impact on the viewer, I don’t want you to end up making some thing that is vulgar and disgusting. As its not a good idea to spoil your product or company’s image or even spread a bad word of mouth about it on the cost of cheap publicity.
4. Focus on story
For now, forget your product or your company and just look to concentrate on story. When Sony made its viral ad for Bravia, there was hardly any TV in it, but still people loved it and they still remember it.
5.Viral Sequels
Now lets just assume that your viral is a hit and people really liked it. By now you have a ready made platform and you are jet set to launch a sequel and since the people already have an image about you and your service, most chances are that they would love it.
6. Lets share
Its not only about making it well, but also letting the people to own and share your viral.

Now lets talk about a little Do’s and Don’ts of Viral Marketing:

Do’s
Let them download it in a usable format.

  • Allow them to embed it to their own sites.
  • Let them share it as simple URL links.
  • Publish your viral over digg, youtube etc.
  • Let them book mark it.
  • Let the people leave their thought and comments to make it more interactive.

Don’ts

  • Don’t make it mandatory for users to register before watching or sharing it.
  • Your viral shouldn’t require to download special drivers or softwares to run.

I hope this blog will help you to make your own successful viral campaign, if not you at least have an idea that how fun it can be to market your product or service to the masses through Viral Marketing. But I believe some thing that is so fun, effective and economical; it is actually worth a try.. :)
