Link Building from a different perspective: Let’s do it naturally !

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Even after all that buzz and rumors about Google ignoring paid links, link building is still the single most important part of achieving high ranking on any Search Engine. With this post, I would like to feature some comparatively unconventional (yet highly effective) ways to garner high quality back links for your website.unconventional link building

Look who’s linking ?
Get ready for surprises. Just enter the search parameter: “name” -linkdomain:name.com (in case of RedAlkemi I will enter: “RedAlkemi” -linkdomain:redalkemi.com) in yahoo and you will get a list of websites which have featured your website but haven’t provided you a back link. All you have to do, is to shoot a warmly written personal email to ask them to provide a back link to your website and you can expect at least 20-40% positive response (which is quite good).

Web 2.0 profile linking
Make a list of your favorite Web 2.0 websites (Digg, MySpace, Facebook, Del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, Yahoo! 360 etc) that allow you to create your profile with a URL and make a natural looking profile with a link to your website. If the web 2.0 website has direct link disabled, you may tag your website and its equally effective.

Butter and link!
If there is a website which you have been desperately trying to link but never knew how to approach, I have a tip for you. Start praising the work of the website on the Social Media and chances are that they will soon get to know that they have a big fan and will feature your praising stories on their website while linking to you. Even if they don’t, you may send them a copy of the story or press release telling them that they are welcome to put the story on their website (with your link off course) and believe me every one loves being admired, they will link to you.

Link to me honey
Look around and make a list of your near and dear ones, who maintain their own personal website, blog, profile. Send them a personal mail to provide an HTML link to your website. If they really like you, you can expect a 100% conversion rate. Now if you don’t value these links, ask your SEO company that how much will they charge you for getting such a link?

Link local too
Make a list of local websites and directories (like yellow pages, Google maps), which can offer you local and global links on sign up.

Punish thieves linkably
If ever you find a webmaster who has stolen your image or content, don’t spare him and shoot him an email and ask him to provide you a back link from quality website he is associated with. It’s a linkable way of punishing the cyber thieves where no one gets hurt.

Even though you can’t rely 100% on such linking tactics, but they actually boost your conventional link building campaign, and if you are looking to start a link building campaign now, you may want to have a look at our ongoing Christmas offer on link building. And one more thing, we have Christmas holidays till 25 Dec, so I would like to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS in advance ! Cheers ! :)

RedAlkemi conducts a seminar on leadership

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Several times in our daily lives, we find ourselves facing a tra_leadership.jpegough choice,a choice to lead or to follow. Now depending on certain genes and our upbringing, some of us are more inclined to lead, whereas others are more comfortable following. Being a leader is not easy, as being a leader is a lonely position, in comparison with that of their followers. All responsibility for success (or failure) lies on their shoulders.

So as an endeavor to help recognize the leader in us, a seminar was organized by the RedAlkemi HR Department (Preeti Raina & Divya Vashisht to be precise) at Entertainment Center on 13th Dec 07. The speaker was Mr.Abhijit Bhattacharya - Sr.Manager ,Trainings at ICFAI - Hyderabad. The seminar was attended by all the Team Leads and Senior Management of RedAlkemi who were eager to add new tools to their management skill arsenals. The focus of Mr. Abhijit Bhattacharya during the entire seminar was primarily to help us differentiate between good managers and outstanding leaders. He conveyed his perspective with some solid live examples including principles and policies followed by John Adair.

The appreciation emails sent to the HR by all those RedAlkemists who attended the seminar are a reflection of what a hit the seminar turned out to be. We are all looking forward to attending more of such seminars which will help us to become better leaders.

Mother Nature in danger: RA organizes Environmental Awareness Camp

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Do you know that the biggest source of Environmental Pollution is not the cars, trucks etc on the road, but the Thermal Power Plants which constitute the biggest source of harmful gases. What do we do then? Simple! Use energy saver lights and save as much electricity as you can. I am sure, very few of us would be consciously following this. Just to spread awareness and to remind us the consequences we might have to pay (in fact we are paying already), if we don’t stop hurting our mother nature, RedAlkemi participated in an Environmental Awareness Camp organized by Greenpeace India on 7th Dec 2007 at the Entertainment Center.

Greenpeace is an international & independent, Non-governmental Organization (NGO) campaigning to protect our environment since 1971, which uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and force solutions for a green and peaceful future. Greenpeace has its presence in 41 countries across Europe, America, Asia and Pacific

It was really nice to see the RedAlkemists coming forward, asking questions about how they can contribute towards fulfilling their environmental duties. I hope that we all have drawn something out of this Environmental Awareness Camp, and let’s all go an extra mile to save our environment from destruction. Let us all save Earth.

RedAlkemi celebrates Annual Day: highlights from the Session

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

November 30 - 3:45 PM, And occasion was RedAlkemi’s Annual Function as all RedAlkemists gathered to celebrate the 5th Anniversary, a moment of pride and honor for all of us. The event was coordinated by the HR department & Gurinder anchored the event. The event commenced with an opening speech by our new HR – Ms. Preeti Raina, who spoke about HR’s commitment to Quality employee recruitment & retention, continued stress on employee internal trainings (as she promised more workshops on .NET, PHP, Flash etc) and other past & upcoming HR policies.

Ms. Chhavi Firani – RA Senior Business Analyst took the stage from Preeti, expressing her joy of achieving up to 75% of our 2007 sales targets. She said - We don’t have regrets for the 25% we didn’t achieve as we have managed 92% client satisfaction for the 80% we have worked for. She also talked about the new tools like QMS – Query Management System, which allowed us to have a better conversion rate and a better Project Management Process in place.

Then called upon stage was Mr. Santosh Pathariya, System Analyst & Programming Head of RedAlkemi (yet another RedAlkemi Hall of Famer) who talked about how he has been working with all the programmers to update RedAlkemi with the ever changing technology in the international arena and the benefits of the recent seminars on ‘enhancing communication and interpersonal skills’. The programmers are now able to communicate with the clients directly and more efficiently.

Next one was Ms. Sheetal Singh, Design Team Head, who later won the award for the Most Enthusiastic Employee of RedAlkemi as well (it says it all about her). She presented the past achievements of RedAlkemi in the Designing field with some really beautiful slide show (could have easily won award for the ‘Best Designed ppt slides’ too), including our masterpieces and how the design team has adopted Web 2.0 so efficiently.

To take over from Sheetal was Mr. Aman Bahl – Asst. Manager – Product Innovation. He talked about the new innovative process that we have floated and new services that we are starting by automating certain processes. With our new process, we would be able to deliver high quality industry relevant links to our clients more efficiently. “We would also be able to offer a combination of different promotion services together and enhance overall marketing strategy. We have done a lot of hard work to develop this high quality link solution for our clients”, he said, “I am sure our efforts will pay and all our clients will be benefited.”

Next to take the stage was Ms. Anuja Gupta, COO – RedAlkemi. “We are doing well”, she said, “but we are still short of being phenomenal”. Anuja spoke about the areas where we have improved as an organization and the lined up challenges for the year 2008. She also expressed her joy on the past year performance of RedAlkemi while giving full credits to all System Analysts, Business Analysts and the HR Department. There was a special mention of Mr. Sanjeev Singh Rawat, Mr. Santosh Pathariya & Mr. Vijay Gupta for their long-term contribution to RedAlkemi.

Some final words were added by Mr. Atul Gupta, Co-founder & CEO – RedAlkemi. ‘If we want to reach to the top, R&D is a very key area and we are doing exceptionally well. We have to rise from simply being a service industry to actually owning the IPR (Intellectual Property Rights)”. He also spoke on how Indian IT industry has an edge over China, because of being the second largest English speaking nation of the world (after US, of course). “India has just the right blend of people and resources”, he said, “There should be nothing stopping us now”. It was truly a motivating speech for all of us.
