On the eve of 31st July 2008 the HR Team organized a Cultural Event for the organization wherein each team gave a fun filled performance infused with lots of enthusiasm and energy. Preeti, Rahul & I hosted the show with our titbits of PJs, interesting one-liners and the works.
The Link Building Team opened the show with a zestful Bhangra followed by a bollywood dance number. It was a fantastic start of a great event. Then came the sensational NumeroUno Team with a satire on the Punjab Police which set the stage on fire as we had everyone rolling in laughter. This was followed by a lovely Punjabi folk song by Nishant Midha also from NumeroUno.
D Company performed next. They put forth three interesting performances, a dance on a medley of the latest Bollywood hits sequenced to narrate a tale, a “jabardast” Bhangra which on public demand had to be repeated and a song by Manoj Kandwal.
Next in line we had PDME team members, with three performances, a dance number, a funny skit and solo performance by Varunjit. The dance number on Pappu can’t dance was loved by all and we had a repeat performance for that as well. Their funny skit also was liked by all and for Varunjit’s performance; all one can say is he is a great comedian.
Additionally, Jagdip from Spiders Team sang a sentimental hindi song in his melodious voice. Then HR & Admin Team presented a musical skit on an old number which was liked too.
Last but not the least we had a spontaneous performance by Chandan from our Technical Team who tickled everybodys funny bone with his non-stop Punjabi Joke!
The entire show was a huge hit with the dazzling performances by all Teams. Words of appreciation and encouragement from our CEO, Mr. Atul Gupta wrapped up the occasion along with some goodies and a dance party which helped us RACE our adrenalin!!

Howdy everyone! Last monday, the RedAlkemi HR department organized yet another fun filled team building activity for us. We all had lot of fun and exchange of many bugups & boo’s while every team (including Spartans, D-company, Invincible, PDME, Technicals & the Link Building team) fought really hard to win the titles. The first game was Spoon Ball Relay Race, in which 4 members of each team had to walk with a ball in a spoon held by his/her mouth in minimum time and fouls. Sound’s easy? Well.. actually it’s not !
The Technical team won this game, thanks to Mehar for giving them an excellent start. In the other game one team had to hide 10 things in the venue (Entertainment Center) and the other team had to search those items in minimum time. In this Treasure Hunt game, D-Company won and took away the box of chocolates. Enjoy the pictures:

Under our Employee Engagement and Initiatives, one day trekking was being organized to Nepli Forest (or more popularly known as Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary).Nepli Forests is a nature trail within Chandigarh, which passes through the woods, hill slope, around water bodies with a gentle gradient. Apart from being an idyllic location for a quick getaway from city life, Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary offers a great opportunity to raise our awareness about the floral and faunal heritage of our city.As decided we gathered at around 7am and with approximately 35 people we set off to the decided trekking spot in a bus. The funny part being that no one in the bus knew the exact way to the Nepli Forest. But we had a rough idea and after asking from few people, finally reached there in about half an hour.

(Click on the thumbnails above to view the larger version of the pictures)
At the entrance of Nepli Forest, we showed our permit (permission taken from forest officer well in advance) for the trek to the Incharge and unloaded things from the bus (brunch, water, juices, games like cricket, badminton, Frisbees etc) as we were not allowed to take bus inside. But we have obtained the permission for one car (Atul & Anuja’s) so that we do not have to carry those things along when we walk to the Inspection Hut as it was 4 kms walk.At around 8.30am all started walking to the first spot (Starting point of Kansal Hut Trekking). After reaching there, we set to our trek. In the way, we had lots of fun, sang songs and cracked jokes as well. The trekking up the hill was tough, little bit scary (since it had narrow and slippery paths) as well as adventurous. Some people were walking carrying bags (thankfully!) which had water and little snacks in it. To which everybody made sure they do made it lighter. ;)After about 15kms of long and hard trekking, we finally made it to the Inspection Hut. The Inspection Hut was surrounded by a huge green park, had a lovely lake with a boat and small zoo with lots of deers. Everyone was so tired and thirsty. And had lots of water and juices which we carried along. Those who reached earlier cheered for those who came later on. There was one group (whom we feared had lost way) reached almost after an hour of first group! When we reached at the Nepli Inspection Hut we all hogged on to the brunch like anything. The brunch included hot and piping aloo puri and raita with achar. The food was so yummy that most of us ended up eating a little extra.

After half an hour or 45 minutes rest, all guys went to play cricket and rest of the group engaged in playing cards under the cool shade of the trees. Children played Frisbee while some brainy people engaged themselves with the game of chess.Around 2pm we all decided to pack up and leave for our homes. Anuja also told us some of stretching exercises so that we do not get cramps in legs next morning due to trekking. Before leaving for our home we had a cup of tea at a local tea stall with snacks (matthis and shakkar pare). And then finally boarded the bus to go back to our lovely homes (I was dying to reach home and fall on my bed..needed a good and sound sleep).Trek was full of fun and frolic and we’ll try organizing more such trips in future.

On 15th January 2008, we, the HR Team organized TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITY within our organization to boost team spirit and better co-ordination in a team. We had five teams with us, NUMEROUNO, D-COMPANY, SPARTANS, INVINCIBLES & PDME for the final event. The event started with the game MINE FIELD. A mine field was set up with the help of plastic bottles half-filled with water and two members from each team were asked to participate. One member was blind-folded and the other person was asked to direct his/her member through that mine field by giving instructions (left, right, forward & back). The rules were that no part of the body (person blind-folded) should touch any bottle or it would be considered as foul. A team committing three fouls was liable to be disqualified. The first team to participate was D-Company which got disqualified as they did 3 fouls. Similarly SPARTANS and PDME also got disqualified. INVINCIBLES (Abhishek & Akash) started out well but could not go far and got disqualified too. It seemed as though no team would be able to complete the race but towards the end the last (but not the least!) participants, NUMEROUNO proved everyone wrong! The credit goes to the team members Vivechana and Anuradha. They were so well coordinated that they completed the full race with only two fouls and stood as winners (Number One as their team name justifies).
Second Game was Tug of War. Two teams comprising of three members each aligned themselves at the end of the rope and as the referee said GO they attempted to pull the other team such that their opponent crosses the center line. First came to battle were, Invincibles and Numerouno of which INVINCIBLES won. Then came SPARTANS & PDME, of which SPARTANS won.Last team left was D-COMPANY who played against the winners of first round, INVINCIBLES and once again INVINCIBLES stood undefeated. Finals round was played by INVINCIBLES (Kulwant Singh, Abhishek & Jagdip) and SPARTANS (Jay Ram, Nikesh & Amit), everybody was trying to guess the winner and once the game started and the teams started to pull, the INVINCIBLES won the game, thereby being the OVERALL WINNER with 3 wins. But the the pull between INVINCIBLES and SPARTANS was a treat to watch, SPARTANS gave a tough win to INVINCIBLES.

Last but not the least was the game ‘Make a Decagon’.
Here the participants were given plastic balls and they were instructed to make a decagon using the balls taking utmost care that the shapes are exactly appearing as the decagon that too within minimum time. Every team tried its best to make the exact shape but once again here also the INVINCIBLES stood as proud winners. And their team members celebrated with claps and cheers for the team. Other teams also joined in to celebrate their victory.
In the end we had the prize distribution ceremony where prizes were given to the winner teams and ended the event with the melodious song of Jagdip Singh.
Seeing the good response of all the employees we are planning to do such activities once in every month. Such events help in building strong teams, develop employee motivation & are fun-for organizations.

Here in India, in January, the rich fields ooze up with the promise of a golden
harvest, and farmers celebrate Lohri during this rest period before the cutting and gathering of crops. So RedAlkemists also gathered, on the chilly evening of 12th January, in the office parking lot to celebrate the festival of Lohri with peanuts, jaggery, and traditional sweets like gajak, rewri, etc. Amidst the cold weather, we all sang and danced around the bonfire on the beat of dhol in the praise of Dulha Bhatti, a Punjabi avatar of Robin Hood who robbed the rich to help the poor, and once helped a miserable village girl out of her misery by getting her married off like his own sister.
As always, we had a lot of fun while we celebrated the event with lot of exuberance. Cheers !

November 30 - 3:45 PM, And occasion was RedAlkemi’s Annual Function as all RedAlkemists gathered to celebrate the 5th Anniversary, a moment of pride and honor for all of us. The event was coordinated by the HR department & Gurinder anchored the event. The event commenced with an opening speech by our new HR – Ms. Preeti Raina, who spoke about HR’s commitment to Quality employee recruitment & retention, continued stress on employee internal trainings (as she promised more workshops on .NET, PHP, Flash etc) and other past & upcoming HR policies.
Ms. Chhavi Firani – RA Senior Business Analyst took the stage from Preeti, expressing her joy of achieving up to 75% of our 2007 sales targets. She said - We don’t have regrets for the 25% we didn’t achieve as we have managed 92% client satisfaction for the 80% we have worked for. She also talked about the new tools like QMS – Query Management System, which allowed us to have a better conversion rate and a better Project Management Process in place.

Then called upon stage was Mr. Santosh Pathariya, System Analyst & Programming Head of RedAlkemi (yet another RedAlkemi Hall of Famer) who talked about how he has been working with all the programmers to update RedAlkemi with the ever changing technology in the international arena and the benefits of the recent seminars on ‘enhancing communication and interpersonal skills’. She presented the past achievements of RedAlkemi in the Designing field with some really beautiful slide show (could have easily won award for the ‘Best Designed ppt slides’ too), including our masterpieces and how the design team has adopted Web 2.0 so efficiently.
To take over from Sheetal was Mr. Aman Bahl – Asst. Manager – Product Innovation. He talked about the new innovative process that we have floated and new services that we are starting by automating certain processes. With our new process, we would be able to deliver high quality industry relevant links to our clients more efficiently. “We would also be able to offer a combination of different promotion services together and enhance overall marketing strategy. We have done a lot of hard work to develop this high quality link solution for our clients”, he said, “I am sure our efforts will pay and all our clients will be benefited.”
Next to take the stage was Ms. Anuja Gupta, COO – RedAlkemi. “We are doing well”, she said, “but we are still short of being phenomenal”. Anuja spoke about the areas where we have improved as an organization and the lined up challenges for the year 2008. She also expressed her joy on the past year performance of RedAlkemi while giving full credits to all System Analysts, Business Analysts and the HR Department. There was a special mention of Mr. Sanjeev Singh Rawat, Mr. Santosh Pathariya & Mr. Vijay Gupta for their long-term contribution to RedAlkemi.
Some final words were added by Mr. Atul Gupta, Co-founder & CEO – RedAlkemi. ‘If we want to reach to the top, R&D is a very key area and we are doing exceptionally well. We have to rise from simply being a service industry to actually owning the IPR (Intellectual Property Rights)”. He also spoke on how Indian IT industry has an edge over China, because of being the second largest English speaking nation of the world (after US, of course). “India has just the right blend of people and resources”, he said, “There should be nothing stopping us now”. It was truly a motivating speech for all of us.

The moment we all have been waiting for finally arrived and indeed we had a rocking time in the party as the spirit of Diwali driving all of us was truly enlightening. Company’s Entertainment Center never looked so beautiful like it was on the evening of 7th November as it was decorated beautifully with flowers and sparkling diyas. The celebration started traditionally at 6 pm when all the creative minds of RedAlkemi gathered to make beautiful Rangloi’s on the EC floor. Prize for the best Rangoli was taken away by Gurvinder Kaur, Chetna Singh & Jay Ram and Mrs. Kalyani Raghavendra being the runners up.

After the Rangoli competition, DJ came into play as the RedAlkemi party animals started coming in. All were dressed up in colorful ethnic wear, it was indeed a beautiful sight to see women in Salwar kameez & beautifully draped Sarees and the men in Kurta-Pajamas. But the ones to steal the show were Gaurav Yakhmi, Anuradha Arora, Mr. & Mrs.Shivani Narang & Nimisha Raina as they won the crown for Best Dressed Male - Female, Best Dressed Couple & Best Dressed Child respectively. This small beauty contest was followed by Dance as the DJ came into a full groove as it played some really foot tapping tracks. Mouth watering South Indian Cuisines were served as Dinner to all as no one was looking too eager to leave the dance floor.
It was really an unforgettable night for all of us. May the light of this Diwali fill our lives with Love, Affection, Team Spirit & Joy. Wising a very Happy & Prosperous Diwali to All. Cheers

RedAlkemi participated in the job fest organized by Naukri.com on the 6th & 7th October at Hotel Shivalikview. We, the HR Team (Shazia Naaz, Divya Vashisht and I) had the exciting opportunity to be a part of the fest, which turned out to be on a larger scale than we had expected! We were on our toes through-out as we interacted and interviewed almost 2000 talented, enthusiastic and experienced as well as fresh candidates.
The job-seekers were quite fascinated by the three big hoardings we displayed at our stall. One of the banners showcased the most talented and longest-serving employees of RedAlkemi, sharing their rich experiences at RedAlkemi. Another banner had a group photo of all the RedAlkemists, while the last but not the least, carried the RedAlkemi brand name with a variety of event pictures and our Vision and Mission statement highlighted on it! We got plenty of compliments for them! Hurray!

(Click on the thumbnails above to view the larger version of the pictures)
It was the first time we ever participated in such an event, which is why I wasn’t very surprised when some people asked what kind of business we are into. Even the other participants like HSBC, Zenith Infotech, IBM Daksh were attracted to our stall and shared their thoughts with us.
One of the recruiters also complimented us, and quoted - “I like the punch line of your organization - YES, IT’S POSSIBLE!”
Huge crowds gathered at our stall, eagerly looking for opportunities with our organization, asking all sorts of questions regarding the vacancies, job profile etc. It was indeed an enriching and a wonderful learning experience for all of us as well. Although at the end of the day, each one of us was completely exhausted, we all agreed on one thing - it was well worth participating for! After all, at RedAlkemi everything is POSSIBLE!!! Kudos to the spirit of our organization!

This Gandhi Jayanti, RedAlkemi salutes the ‘Father of the Nation’, the greatest leader of India - Mr. Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi , for his tremendous contribution to the Freedom Movement of India. We all know that his influence extends across the borders of India to the rest of the world for his humanitarian philosophies like ‘Non-Violence’ & his extraordinary leadership qualities. He was aware that Indian freedom from the yoke of British Imperialism required freedom of the Indian masses from the economic servitude and so left no stone unturned in achieving our birthright to be a free country.
This 2 Oct, lets all relive the Gandhian spirit and pay our gratitude to the great man by swearing to preserve the legacy of our great freedom fighters…! Because had they not fought the dark ages, India wouldn’t have been shining like today!!!

Like the song by Queen goes… We are the champions - my friends… We are the champions of the world…

All RedAlkemist shouted cheered and jumped together in joy as Indian cricket team beat arch rivals Pakistan in a nailbiting final of T20 world cup… and lifted the cup. Members of RedAlkemi watched on the giant screen in our very own entertaiment center… Its great time for bonding as the managers celebrated and shared hi-fives with CEO, executives and trainees alike…
Well a jinx was broken as the last time we all watched a match together in the entertainment center, India was out of the world cup… This time we won.. and paid back in style..
Cheers to the team and Indians..
India.. India…

It’s been almost a month since I have taken charge of the PPC wing - and armed with a bagful of ideas and loads of enthusiasm our young PPC team is all set to be “Christened”.
With a small two man army (or should I say “woman”) both Sanjana and I are all set to join the increasing list of energetic teams working under Anuja’s umbrella. Needless to say we are nervous and excited but raring to go!!
Since we were never really actively promoting PPC to most of our existing Clients, we now hope that having a dedicated team for monitoring and running the projects will give the entire SEM strategy a good push in the right direction.
Paid search is the hottest area of online marketing today. The beauty of PPC advertising is the speed at which you can reach your target market and the high quality of leads that can be generated with immediate effect. PPC advertising, is one of the most popular ways to get traffic to your website without really stretching the budget too far. You can in a way control your spend.
PPC advertising can be a very successful marketing tool that requires you to maximize the performance of ads so as to get the maximum Return on Investment. Whether it is for increasing an online presence, Search for new customers, sell more products or services or just promote a website, PPC works well. With good planning, constant monitoring and tweaking pay-per-click advertising can prove to be profitable for companies willing to make the spend.
Obviously we intend to ensure that our Clients get the best of the above and we can help give them their “dollars” worth.
I hope the coming months hold in store loads of support, good wishes, challenges and excitement…..
