Business Promotion on Technorati

What is Technorati? Technorati is a search engine focused on tracking blogs. It was launched in 2002 and was founded by Dave Sifry. By June 2008, Technorati indexes over 112.8 million blogs. Searches on Technorati often result in more up-to-date information and find the most relevant results on all media including blogs, photos, videos and audio files.

In May 2007, Technorati completely re-designed their home page to respond to their more mainstream users. They now have a single search box instead of using search types like keyword search, tag search and blog directory search. Results are returned in categories like videos, blogs and music. What are Technorati Tags? Tags are one-word descriptors which are used to categorize something. You can tag your blog postings, images, links, etc. with keyword. When other people search for something within Technorati, for example - cake, all the posts, images, links, etc. that have been tagged with the word "cake" will show up. How Technorati work? Technorati is similar to normal search engines but instead of crawling websites and ranking them using complex algorithms, Technorati allows bloggers to tag their posts with relevant keywords, so that the content appears in the results pages when those keywords are searched. You don't have to wait for Technorati to find and index your blog, as each tag will automatically get your post listed for that keyword. Your content will get categorized, all posts with the same tag will be grouped together and ranked with the most recent at the top. One of the reason, behind its popularity is that it is easy to use and can immediately get more exposure and attract more people to your blog. Key Findings -
