PassGED.com was created to dramatically change the way people learn basic high school skills and knowledge. They started with a simple idea: High School should be relevant to people's needs. PassGED.com online GED courses are intensely rich, interactive learning experiences. Their instructional designers precisely control the flow of the learning experience to insure that you actually learn the GED material before leaving the online GED course. Using interactive learning simulations, they create real-life situations for users during the online GED course.
Challenges
PassGED offers GED courses, online GED preparation and online GED programs. PassGED and RedAlkemi entered into a relationship in early 2004, at a time when PassGED's site designing was about to be completed. The GED Education industry is very competitive and had a lot of commercial as well as non-profit sites enjoying the top 10 rankings across all major search engines. The already existing lead of these sties in terms of links and optimization was very high and PassGED's as a new entrant had a long road ahead. Since Pay Per Click was appearing as a costly proposition, a long-term plan of SEO and Link Building aimed at influencing the site's organic rankings was required.
Solution
RedAlkemi proposed deep optimization of the site and a long-term link building campaign to steadily improve the site's ranking. The initial focus was to establish ranking for some "low hanging fruits" (keywords which were not very competitive, but had a lot of relevance) and have a long-term plan for the Generic keywords. RedAlkemi carried out deep web page optimization and SEO copywriting on the site. A scalable link building campaign was initiated which allowed us to aim at different keywords as the anchor text of the incoming links. Today PassGED is ranking number 1 for some of the most important keywords and phrases. Along with a link building campaign, RedAlkemi also carried out an Article syndication campaign targeting the keywords “GED practice tests”, “ged online” and “online ged”. The site is now ranking number 1 for these keywords. |
